Microbiological contamination in cultural heritage settings: shared experiences for better approaches
October 27th, 2023
Free Webinar (registration required here)
Archival and museum collections are often exposed to high humidity levels leading to microbiological deterioration and material and immaterial losses, either due to regional climate or the failure of humidity control systems. However, microbiological contamination remains largely under-assessed.
This webinar is the culmination of the joint venture between Portuguese and Norwegian conservators and scientists "Microbiological contamination in cultural heritage settings: shared experiences for better approaches", funded by the Bilateral Relations Funds Program from the EEA Grants.
We will present the results stemming from the application of an innovative and holistic perspective for the analysis of microbial contamination levels, their diversity and their potential to induce damage to the collections.
